2024 Street ResurfacingCity Council approved a contract with Barrett Paving for this year's street resurfacing project. Resurfacing is scheduled to begin in early July. Streets included in the resurfacing project are:

Campus Ave. - Church St. to Sycamore St.
Willow Lane
Poplar St. - High St. to Sycamore St.
Woodruff Ct.
Church St. - Locust St. to Talawanda Rd.
Vine St. - W. terminus to Beech St.
Vine St. - University to Talawanda Rd.
Withrow St. - W. Terminus to Talawanda Rd.
Brookville Rd. - intersection of Oxford Reily/Chestnut St.

Oats TrailsPhase III - This phase of the project will construct a new segment from US27 to the railroad track and Talawanda High School. Studies have been conducted and design plans are in the review process with the Ohio Department of Transportation. Once approved by ODOT, the City can begin bidding the project. The current total estimate for this phase of the project is $1.71M.

Phase IV - This phase of the project will connect Talawanda Middle School to the Oxford Community Park. The total current estimate for this phase of the project is $2.45M.

Phases III & IV construction has been awarded to Sunesis Construction. The Park Connector phase has been awarded to Majors Construction. Clearing work has begun for these projects.

Phase V - This phase of the project will connect Talawanda High School to Talawanda Middle School. A request for design services was advertised with proposals due December 22, 2022. Bayer Becker is the selected design engineer for the project.

Kehr Road Culvert ReplacementThe ODOT District 10 Coordinating Committee approved this project in November 2022. the City will receive a maximum of $147,500 from the Ohio Public Works Commission to assist with funding this project which is scheduled for the summer of 2024.

This project was advertised for bids and a construction contract has been awarded to W.G. Stang.

Kehr Road will close for 45 days beginning June 17, 2024 for this project.

Rail Platform

This Regional Transit Authority project will host a passenger waiting area, public accessible restrooms, bike storage, passenger kiosks/customer service, and intermodal transfer bays. Preliminary designs for the RTA facility can be viewed at https://www.butlercountyrta.com/projects/oxford-multimodal-facility.

OKI announced the award of an STBG grant for $2,096,193 with a 20% match for construction of the rail platform. Funds should be release in 2026.

Design coordination has begun.


Solar Array at the Closed Sanitary Landfill
City Council passed a resolution authorizing the City Manager to enter into a lease option agreement with BQ Energy Development LLC to develop a plan to harvest solar energy from this City owned parcel. Permitting will be required by the OEPA and a transmission agreement will need made with Duke Energy. Upcoming ODOT Projects
